Medical Tests

Medical tests are needed & I dread it. Am I terminally ill? Cancer? Diabetes? Or is it my lifestyle? Could it be the foods I eat or lack of exercise?  Is it nothing more than depression & anxiety? Stress?

I am sick & in pain everyday…7 naps a day…walking is near impossible…great trouble breathing…lung spasms…allergies…poor digestion…etc. When I am awake I am falling asleep. My belly is swollen, bloated.weak,& sick. My vision is blurry.

After the holidays I am going to the hospital for tests. I need help.

Our minds are hard wired to look for the worst case scenario in everything, it’s a very helpful thing to have in many situations, but not so helpful when it comes to seeing a doctor and having tests. I recently had to go to hospital for tests and it was nothing but horrific for me because I have health anxiety and so just being in a hospital makes my bp and heart go up and the adrenaline pump through my body. It might help you to accept that you are going for tests, and you may well experience high anxiety, but you’ll be ok and you’ll get through it. It will also help to remember that you are going for tests to make sure you’re ok and to get treatment for anything that might come up, and that’s good self care. In the meantime while you’re waiting, remember to be kind to yourself, take things easy, and treat yourself with compassion. Think about what you would say to or do for a friend going through this, and then do that for yourself. If/when the anxiety gets worse, remind yourself that it’s ok to be anxious in this situation, most people would experience some anxiety, and allow it to come and go. And it will always go, it may come back several times but always it leaves. I hope that things improve for you soon and you can get the necessary tests done and then hopefully relax 🙂

  3. I think you definitely need to see a medical professional and get a full work up. It could be something as simple as an allergic reaction, to stress to something much more dangerous to your health.
The Drs is the best place for you.
