In losing weight its important to listen to your body & that requires awareness…you need to be alert. You need to know when you are hungry & when you are emotional. We want to eat to fuel our body & not be feeding our emotions. This is difficult with an anxiety disorder. My emotions,feelings,& thoughts are everywhere & usually highly agitated. I am an emotional eater & all to often eat to quiet my emotions,feelings,& thoughts. Unwanted & often terrifying emotions,feelings,& thoughts overwhelm me. When this happens I need distraction & will choose to eat if nothing else is immediately available. You could say…food & eating is quick relief & gives me a time out from the troubling thoughts,emotions,& feelings. Eating quiets the noises in my head.
